Come November 22 this year, the lucrative vampire-romance franchise of THE TWILIGHT SAGA will finally closed its chapter with THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN - PART 2. But there's a report that Lionsgate has finalized a deal to acquire THE TWILIGHT SAGA distributor Summit Entertainment, and Lionsgate president Jon Feltheimer hopes the franchise continues after the grand finale. Here's what he had to say below.
It's hard for me to imagine a movie that does $700 million-plus doesn't have ongoing value. It's an amazing franchise that they have done a great job of maintaining with absolutely no deterioration. So the simple answer is 'Boy I hope so.
Is Lionsgate trying to ape THE TWILIGHT SAGA in the similar vein of their SAW series? I mean, seriously, not all franchise are worth expanding way beyond its story arcs.
